has anyone had a problem underfireing a buderus g115 boiler
by 5 to 10% I will be using a power Venter so I should not have the problem of expelling the gasses of combustion
right? will condensing be an issue?

thanks
John

    But .......

Why would you want to ?The G115 fire is not what I thought of as large......Watch the stack temperature.....

may end up with problems with

condensate, or other, by underfiring. You should not have short cycle problems with that big of a heat load, and you also need to include the dhw load, which could easily be bigger than this.

Using the right controls, w/ dhw priority, and/or optimizing the burner run cycle, outdoor reset, etc. (like Tekmar controls or Buderus controls), will help too.

    short cycle

If You want to extend the cycle length of the boiler than add a storage tank to the system , Ziggy has the digrams on his heating disk that will allow you to size 1 and how it will affect cycle lenth as per how large a tank you get .
Or look at the vitola boiler instead they have a much larger storage capacity to help reduce cycles

    I looked into....

this w/ my boiler....frowned upon by Buderus. You can UPfire a 115-21...10%. Are you doing a power venter or the direct /balanced flue setup...kpc

    watch the stack temperature

Removing baffles will increase stack temp. but you will loose efficiency. Call 1-800-BUDERUS.

    I Agree...

....your right there with the G115-28. Why over engineer the system. I would recommend the out door reset ....Not a great fan with a power venter unless no other option. I would direct vent .Alot less to go wrong with......... other then the Riello post purge control to worry about. I figured they have them ironed out by now...

    Why on earth.......

would you want to use a power venter when the Riello BF3 is available??? Think about it....no fan to clean, no motor to go bad, etc., etc....
