in less than 3 hrs. Had about 1 day of prep work but at the shop. Two guys needed to carry the boiler in but went very well. This has two zones with the outdoor reset. We went with three circs only because the second floor zone had 3/4" bb piped with 1/2" pex. This was a new house and the pipes were run so we could not prevent this piping problem but I think we fixed it. The grunfos circ seemed to push very well on this zone. The buderus preps very well at our shop and with the adjustible feet, the boilers and pipes are mostly level.

Buderus install
Looks like a nice neat install! Are those gauges on the return lines?0 -
yep
We were worried about the return temp being to low and they double as ball valve shut offs for the return. The second floor was very long and we didn't think it would work well. I hope to keep posting pics and get some constructive coments on the jobs. Thanks for the reply......0 -
Classic example of pumping away with the top boiler drain as the purge. Nice. and neat.

Very clean and quick
What kind of prep work was done at the shop ? All that room to move , I woulda been more than happy to do the prepping right where it is . 3 hours is quick , what did you do the rest of the day ? Fishing ? Good work Mellow .0 -
Nice neat job.
Just curious..... why the verticle tank? Have you had any problems with the horizonal LT tanks? Makes a nice small footprint for the system.

this is nice to look at *~/;)
i can see the temp gauges when i walk up to it:) straight square and even:) there was some guy here the other day who could surely benifit from a few hours of Your Time ...0 -
thanks for the nice words
The prep we did at the shop was everything you see. All we had to do was run form the circs up, on supply and gauges up, on the return. The hot and cold was done to the tempering valve and every thing was wired. We placed the unit in 1hour and had to return, 2hours of piping and it was done. It takes about a day of prep work and a half day on a normal job. Longer for L/T tanks or if you have more work to do( more zones). The s-120 tanks we found to have more output than the L/T or flat tanks. The flat tanks also cost more and take more time for me to install. I do use them and like them for tight spots. I will try to post more on buderus and some tight spots. The first pic I had to use a 008 circ it had 110 feet bb.........in a slab home.0 -
one question
Very nice looking install. Dont seem to see any thermal trap on the tempering valve. Dont we use that anymore?0 -
you cant beat that with a stick
now that guy knows how to install buderus nice job Mellow
i hope mine comes out that nice when my installer is done
he is starting my boiler oct 1st i will post pics when it's done. it will be a new boiler and new air handler not sure if i should go with carrier or trane for my air handler. what do you all recomend?
thanks0 -
the papers with the valve
do not say you need one. A thermal trap is a good idea to keep hot water off the valve when not in use but I just don't see a reason for it here. The mixing valves of the past, have needed them on a 200 deg. boiler and they still failed. The tank is only 140 deg. and should not hurt this valve.0 -
thanks for the reply
I like to keep up with it all. Used to be that the manufacturer insisted on a thermal trap.0 -
