I have a new customer with two of them that are in pretty rough shape, the piping is just plain wrong, and after ten years of no to partial heat, they wound up with me.:0

I explained to them that the near boiler piping is wrong, adn that yes, gas boilers need regular maintenance just like oil fired ones.

The installer absconded with all of the product literature, and I'd like to get a copy, (Hopefully download???) of the I & O manual, and any other lit that might be available on these.

There is more wrong then there is right. There is no Hartford loop to speak of, for one thing. They manually add water to this contraption more than "Three times a week". The top floor never heats, probably because there is NO MAIN VENT on that riser.

The circulator for the dom hot H2O fails YEARLY, and they're on their sixth Amtrol boiler mate in ten years.


BTW, all of the near boiler piping, from the REDUCING BUSHINGS in the top of the boilers, is 2".:(

I made a crude (VERY CRUDE) drawing of how this one pipe system is currently set up. Not pretty. Looks like fun.

But anyway, the drawing and stuff is for your personal enjoyment. I know what needs to be done, now all I must do is convince the owner.
