Radiant T-stat

I have a customer that had radiant installed in half of their basement for the inlaw apartment. The installer is not using outdoor reset. Its just a manual 3 way that tempers the radiant from the boiler @ 180 with copper fin zones. Would a radiant t-stat be helpful in this application? Also the existing t-stat is a Honeywell t87, just a 2 wire, so anything new has to be 2 wire.
I'm looking for your feedback and any prefered brand, if there are any 2 wire versions.

stat choices
Hi Ted,
A plain HW T87 should work if you set the heat anticipator up correctly or there is a slab type stat available thru WWW.electromn.com that senses the slab temp, room temp, outdoor temp and allows adjustment for the type of floor coverings and works very, very well. I set one up last fall late evening on a job and the next morning, when I returned to finish the adjustments, the carpenters were working in their stocking feet and whined when I changed the setting to bare floor from carpeting. The extra 2 wire for the outdoor sensor and such is worth it

You take your digital amprobe and clamp around the r wire of the stat and turn the heat up take that reading and set that on the stat. This gives you a comfort setting on the swing in the stat, it eliminates the warm up and cool down feeling.
If you don't have a digital amprobe, take a 20 inch length of thermostat wire, bare both ends, place one end in the palm of your hand and wrap the wire around your thumb 10 times, remove the R wire from the stat and place this wire in between the r on the stat and the wire that you removed, then take your amprobe and clip in the circle that you made around your thumb, turn up the stat and take your reading and divide it by 10 this is your set point. It works just as well and you don't get dizzy from watching the digital numbers go up and down.
