Have used the control you mention many times and find it easy to use and wire, and make the entire job much easier to troubleshoot and diagnos problems, should they occur. As with any other product, read the instructions carefully and get acquainted with the product and it will become your favorite. I'm not a zone valve fan, but some jobs are better suited to their use, and the Taco is the control we use.

can anyone tell me about a zvc506exp the + and the -'s0 -
Yeah, what Al said,
It also looks alot nicer than a pile of spaghetti wiring all over the place. I use them whenever a system calls for zone valves.Chris0 -
EXP
The EXP part means you could buy the Taco reset control and plug it into the zone valve control. You can also get cards that plug in to other things. I have one card that lets the heat come on if the priority zone (DHW) calls for more than an hour. This can prevent my house from freezing if the DHW thermostat failed on. The other card I have runs the DHW circulator after the DHW call for heat to cool down the boiler. If you don't want any of this just get the conntrol without the EXP in it.
