Chimney
Weren't you going to use a BF3 for DV?
Given budget issues -
then if possible, trade down the BF3 option for an F3/Carlin EZ-1 and invest in a few more feet of flue piping. Overall, the chimney option has less issues.0 -
Agreed.

Agreed.
BTW, Are you using vent piping rated for oil combustion?0 -
yes im useing all fule pipe A-VENT harte&cooley brand
i only need 8 more feet so you think it would cost me the same if i go down from a bf3 to a f3 and insted of buying the concentric kit go with 8 more feet of pipe pluse cap?
thanks

Go with the pipe, less head aches.0 -
what about the pipe geting cod in the winter will i have condenstion issues i wont be able to box it in for 2 years
and i bring up cost because this boiler im haveing installed is costing be a great deal of cash and it's all i have for it. so as long as it cost the same to go with 8 more feet of pipe with cap then i can do it.
thanks

some options
A couple of options -
Given your short term budget, go with an inexpensive pipe on the outside with a tee to prevent condensation from running back towards the breeching, and do over in a couple of years when your budget allows it to be done right.
Spend a little more for double wall pipe (type-B) and then box it in later.
Perhaps there are weather-proof insulating wraps that could be applied to the single wall pipe? Talk to the folks that sell SS liners (316TI/AL29-4C) like Ventinox (ProTech), Homesavers, Olympic Chimney, ZFlex, etc, etc. They may have a wrapping with inuslation on the inside and a foil on the outside that could withstand some weather for a couple of years??0 -
well everyone thanks very much and im sorry for all the questions ive made my minde up i will not get the bf3 i will go with the riello 40 f3 and power vent just for this year and next summer i will spend the $4000.00 and brink up the side of the house so it looks nice again thank you all for everything
i have a power venter now and it's worked great for 2 years now with no problems so one more year will not hurt0
