The BFU is used in a constant circulation loop. The BFU provides what the actual room temperature is to the R2107 outdoor reset control. It assist in adjusting the water temperature more accurately. As the room temperature is reached the water temperature is lowered to then maintain a temperature. It's like cruise control!
Location of the room sensor is important especially in a multi zone system. Constant circulation is used in a radiant system, large cast iron radiator system or other large mass systems. It can be used in a baseboard system as long as the baseboard is sized correctly for each room.

It also act like a remote control for the set backs. And you can add a hot water boost button off the sensor for a large load . Am I right Joe ?

The BFU will allow you to set the "Day Temperature" (Sun button) and by removing the BFU cover the "Night set back temperature" (Moon button) can be set. The BFU can overide the set back program in the R2107 by manually pushing the sun or moon button to take it out of the program mode.
I'm not sure what you where refering to about hot water boost, but if the program is in the night mode (and set up that the boiler will not fire for a domestic call) by pushing the "Sun" button the domestic will be priority.
