I am looking for information on using 1/2" nominal copper tube with aluminum fins in a steam application. Is this ok to do and are there any problems in attempting this type of application.

That's too small for steam
You need room for the steam and water to keep out of each other's way. Also the copper will expand and contract a lot more on steam, and this may cause leaks.
I've had good results with Slant/Fin Multi-Pak 80 fin-tube baseboard, which can use a 1-1/4" steel pipe with fins as the element on steam applications. All Steamed Up, Inc.
