    Start with basics

Take a look at Carol Feys books in the "books and more" section on the left. After that the schematics will make alot more sense. Basic electricity isn't. But, it's like a foriegn language, keep plugging away at it and one day it makes sense.

    forced air furnace.....

they pretty simple . for oil. the power goes to the burner motor and high voltage transformer .it goes...............a more sophisticated deal is to use a primary control . the power goes to the black on the primary the motor goes together with the transformer to the Orange wire. whites are tied together. tstat wires are lashed on the T T the yellow wires are the fireeye.F F ..........beyond that it is all about temp probes that turn the fan off and on at set temps called a fan limit switch. and safetys that shut the system down .if you have a primary with blue purple pink orange black white then these other wires are for intermmitent devises like oil soleinoid new style transformers oil pre heat motor control.power in and out.
