hi im geting a budures boiler g115 with concentric vent kit
and on my last post people say i may have problems with cross contamantion and back draft. but after thinking about this all day i think i found the perfect solution
how about if i plant some large hedges about 1 foot in front of the vent termantion to prevent winds fron directly hiting it. what do you think of this.

i think it also adds as a nice touch up to the house it will eaven look nice :-)and i will have a good working vent system for my new boiler

    Venting

I think you would be digging up your dead shrubs soon. How about a stainless chimney??

    another problem

This unit will need to have the area to remove the gases of combustion. If you plant bush's in front and then they cover with snow and block the unit from venting your in for a bigger problem. Sorry to say. If you are concerned with not being able to direct vent the unit why not put up a stainless chimney, like EJW said, box it in and make it look like a regular chimney? Just a thought...:)

    had one

A power venter enclosed by plywood 2 feet away on 3 sides. It burn out ventor motors until we took it down. 5 years every year a new motor. Best thing is to let it breath, a bush to block the wind should not hurt if in the right spot. away from the vent.

this new system that they are installing is costing me alot as it is. but what i was thinking if i could get away with direct vent for 2 years till i save up for a nice brick chimney. but would nice hedges in front of the vent work ok. i will put it a foot and a 1/2 feet away from the vent will this get me by for 2 years

    thanks

What does your installer say? Is he comfortable with his plan to install this? If so, and you feel comfortable and he warranties his work, then give it a whirl. It's impossible to say it will or will not work. It might, or it may cause issues.....Wish I had a better answer.

    tjerlund ss1

I've used this product on a few oil fired units work quite well was really able to set the draft properly for a direct vent and with a buderus the stack temp.is usually low .The unit a tjerlund ss1 fit into a standard 16 on center beam space and vent out through a double insulated sleve had a post and purge fan and a manual hi lite and a ul listing i believe for under140 btu and much cheaper then a chimmey and i though pretty straight forward install and wiring peace clammy

I've replaced one of these at on time on a thermopride forced air if I remember correctly the old one was about 8 yrs old just got to watch your refactory thermopride uses a sort of brick witch holds the heat real well and was melting the coupler had to replace refactory with a fiber one. Second thought about bushes up close to the vent those vapors get quite hot I would be worried about chance of fire...
