The equivalent north american monitor brand or munchkin brand boiler is over US$4000.

Whats going on?
Is there any technical reason I could not buy the glowworm boiler in the UK and install it here? (lets ignore regulatory problems for this discussion)

    Technical: power will be different. They're on 220V in the UK and most? all? of Europe. You [might] have a problem making physical connections. Plumbing in the UK is rather strange and for some reason they still have a fascination with straight threads. There may well be other technical problems.

    BTW, the "baby" Vitodens is widely priced retail at 1,999 euros in Germany (about $2,450 U.S.).

    Prices in the EU (European Union) contain a very hefty "value added tax" (like 20-30%) that can be rebated to people outside the EU taking things back home...
