Using a product called MEX. Have used TSP in the past ( distant past) but stopped because it fouls the environment/ground water. The hardware store by you should have it. Its a fairly common product.

boil out chemical?
Will anyone recommend a chemical to use for the boil out of a new steam boiler? I would appreciate your suggestions on what works for you.

Boil-out
We still use TSP here and there is a NEW version that has no phosphate in the mix. (not sure how it works WITHOUT the phosphate) but it does clean the system. We also have tried "Surgex" for boilers that still seem to bounce even after a full day boil-out. We also use TSP to flush the returns also. Hope this helps you some. Good Luck and be safe out there.0
