Steam Boiler Running Superstore
Boston
Member Posts: 71
Works well, makes lots of hot water. How efficient is this , I assumed I start cooking the water in the steam system everytime the boiler turns on. Radiators never get hot in the summer, but we generally do not run the superstore empty. Should this be piped some other way then off the steam line? There must be some kind of boiler with Steam and FHW outputs?

When you say Superstor
I'm assuming it's an indirect water heater ? When an indirect is connected to a steam boiler , to make hot water only , the boiler temp should stay well below steam temperature . Do you know if there is an aquastat in the boiler to limit the temperature if the indirect is on by itself ? And do you know which model number Burnham it is ? Many Burnham boilers have tapping for both steam and for an indirect heater .0
