"Tkmar bo" should be "Tekmar box".

    Getting a new Munchkin...

Getting a new Munchkin; someone from distributor delivered it today, installation is tomorrow.

I opened it up and I saw nothing in it that indicates "Vision I". I called the contractor and reminded him that the contract is for outdoor reset. He said "Oh, you only need Vision I for indirect; you can do outdoor reset with the regular Munchkin". He denied that any Tkmar bo was involved; he said it was built in.

What is he talking about? Is this true? Or maybe the Munchkin does have Vision I preinstalled, I just can't tell what it looks like?

There is a little box to the left with an LED display, just as pictured in the Munchkin manual. There is a 925 baord in a box on the right side, connected with ribbon cable. This is the T80M, wall mount model.

    Many thanks for your help!

    Nope

The Vision 1 kit is sold seperately and then only to authorized Vision dealers.

You will not get outdoor reset without it.

You better have a talk with your contractor.

The munchkin brain is set up for the outdoor reset, but you need the special wiring harness with the sensors. Also you must be Vision one certified to program the control.

    Good luck.

BTW, Tekmar has nothing to do with Vision one.

    Ok, but...

Ok, but if I understand the previous message (from Ted Gregoriadis) correctly, the Vision I kit is just the wiring harness and sensors? There is no add-on box of electronics or anything else that says "Vision I" and has its own display or lights or whatever?

I have no reason to believe that my contractor is not being straight with me; I just may not have understood what he was trying to tell me. I was looking for an add-on product with the label "Vision I" on it. That's why I'm asking what a Vision I looks like!

    The Vision 1

is a kit that includes an outdoor sensor, an indirect sensor, and a wiring harness for the indirect pump. It does not come with the boiler.

The little key pad you see with the cable is a remote display that will also allow programming functions into the boiler "brain".

You stated in your original post that the contractor said you only need the Vision 1 with an indirect and that the outdoor reset was built-in to the Munchkin. Not true. The Munchkin needs the outdoor sensor so that it CAN reset.

It is true that the logic is in the "brain", but without the Vision 1 package, you can't program a reset as it will have no point of reference.

I have close to 30 Munchkins in operation to date. You need the Vision 1 package for reset.

OK, I probably misunderstood the contractor

    > You stated in your original post that

    > the contractor said you only need the Vision 1

    > with an indirect and that the outdoor reset was

    > built-in to the Munchkin. Not true. The Munchkin

    > needs the outdoor sensor so that it CAN

    > reset.

Yep, but I now think I misunderstood what he said, or maybe he misunderstood me, or some combination. I was confused and was asking him for an add-on box of electronics, something like a Tekmar might look like.

Of course, I do understand that if there is no outdoor sensor there can be no outdoor reset!

    Many thanks for the help,

with the box's before you loose something. If you don't know what it looks like, how can you find it ?

I know its like christmas and its new, but if you open all the box's somethings going to get lost.

    Marks right.

    Ask your contractor.
