Any input helpful. Got a old 3/8" copper ceiling radiant grid in liv room of apt that has restriction. Can get to the return manifold to purge but can't get to the supply as it is buried somewhere in structure. Any ideas on locating a blockage in a 250ft loop or so in plaster ceiling with out full tear out???? Thanks in advance, Tim

  • Purge backwards

from the return manifold back to the boiler. You may have to cut in some 3/8" ball valves (so that you can isolate the loops) and a hose bibb at the return manifold for power purging.

Drain the system, connect the hose at the return manifold, close all the ball valves at the manifold except one, open the hose bibb at the boiler and turn on the water. Purge one loop at a time and make sure you open the next ball valve before you close the current ball valve to make sure pressure doesn't build up. Those copper lines are fragile.
