I know about Climate Master, Econar, and Water Furnace. Any others out there (esp. in western NY)? Anything about the above that I should know about (good or bad)?

    Econar

Is what we use and we are in WNY. We have a couple going in now with radiant heat and high velocity a/c. If you want to see call me- Troy 716-913-4166. We have chosen Econar because of the heating efficiency in our cold climate. Most of the manufacturers shine on the a/c side but do poorly in the heat side. Our primary need is heat.

    ecr ground source heat pumps

I have been using ecr's equipment with great sucess. It is a direct exchange system. No problems with water quality and less parts to worry about. Check them out at ecrtech.com or heawarsaw.com

Whatever brand you use get training on it. Went thru WaterFurnace service and install training in the mid '90's. Can troubleshoot very quickly and tell you if water side or refrigerant side in under 5 minutes using only water press guage and temp probe.

Not that other brands are bad, I would like them as much if had the same training for them as have had for WF.

We use much Florida Heat Pump (FHP) and like them very much. Also use ECR to a lesser extent.Depends on the budget.
