Erie controls

I have used Erie t-stats, zone valves ,and circulator controls for years with no problem. Tried a boiler Boss 2400-2 and 5 VL-500 zone valve cotrols for first time on a good sized job. The 2400 has been running for month with no problem reseting boiler and working indirect tank for hot water. Now control works but won't read outdoor temp. reads constant 80 deg. Checked wiring and changed sensor no change suspect going to have to change control. Tried to wire up VL-500's today and mva's won't work on 3 of 5 of them. Got meter out and checked and I have 24V in all kinds of wrong places, on common terminals, end switch terminals and some have no volt on 24V terminals. Any one else having trouble with these controls lately or did I just get a bad lot?
