Pressure sensor

My steam system is equipped with a Honeywell Pressure control cat#97-3322. The pressure control is the additive type as in the inside cover it states that "cut in plus differential equals cut out". On the upper left hand side of the body there is a screw that adjusts the cut in (currently at 2psig) and the differential is set to 2psig since the white graduated wheel is at such location.

I planned on adjusting the cut in at 0.5psig and the differential at 1.5psig for a cut out of 2psig. Is there any index on the body of the pressure control to properly adjust it?

In a related issue, is there any available gauge, say from 0psig to 5psig as to better monitor the working pressure of the steam boiler and replace the "useless" 0psig to 30psig existing gauge?

Thanks
Luis

    Don't do that

Leave the 'useless' gauge as the pop safety is rated at 15# blowoff point. I would want to know if the pressure control ran away, just how much pressure is on the system.
The master of this site has written extensively on good ol' steam. Read up b/4 you go messin'.

You are absolutely right. I overlooked that detail of the rating of the safety valve. Even so getting a gauge with enough span and additional graduations in between the ends of the scale would be an asset.

    add another

Just tee on another gauge 0-5 or thereabouts. Then you cover both bases. The lower the pressure the faster it heats. Less friction in the pipes = faster velocity. The rule of thumb written by "the Guru" ...Crank it down!
