Pinnacle+Tekmar=no modulation?

I read in another thread here that if one has a Peerless Pinnacle controlled by an outdoor reset controller (e.g. Tekmar), then one loses the burner modulation feature.
Something about how the Pinnacle's logic thinks the water is much colder than it should be, and runs the burner on high all the time. I can't say I understood that, but sure enough, I have a Pinnacle and a Tekmar reset controller. Could someone confirm or deny, and explain to a newbie? What can be done to fix this?

What happens is the tekmar works the TT wires and shuts the
heater off through the TT. This will prevent the system from staying in the condensing mode and ther for produce more on off cycles. Call Peerless tech support and talk to Cole Cooper. He will give you the information you will need for future use.0
