Name that radiator? Radiator mystery. Who made it? What is heat output?
We got three of these for $10.00 each in a tear-down of a late 1950's or early 60's upper scale rambler in Minneapolis. They were fully recessed in walls. Each "section' is cast as a unit of six tubes wide. The face you see is, therefore, two such sections plus two end-cap sections. Then the back side is the same. It's sort of a two-tube radiator. An end-cap section is also pictured. This radiator is 27" high and 22" wide. It's considerably heavier than a normal three-tube radiator. Thank you, Joe.

It's a Weil-McLain \"Solray\" radiator
These units are shown in the "Hydronic Rating Handbook". If you can tell us the height, width and depth, we can tell you how much heat they will give off.

Steamhead, Thanks
Thanks for your reply. It's 27 inches high, 22 inches wide, and 4-3/4 inches deep. It's essentially two tubes deep except the end caps are three tubes.

27.25 square feet EDR
This pattern is the #1 Solray, nos. 2 and 3 are deeper. Converting EDR to BTU/hour, on a steam or Vapor system the one in the pic will give off 6540 BTU/hr when full of steam at 1 pound, and on a hot-water system 4125 BTU/hr if the boiler temp is 180 degrees and return water is 160 degrees.
