Remote monitoring and control

I am a big fan of the wall, now I have a question for the experts. We are presently laying out an infloor heating system. the architect & owners have requested a control system that will allow them to set up and set back temperatures, and alarm via phone. The architect is very concerned about asthetics and likes ice cube type temperature sensors. What I have found is the Caleffi web based system and the Honeywell telephone access module. I believe the Caleffi system to be more expandable and have greater capabilities, however it is expensive and does duplicate many of the controls built into the boiler, is web only and no phone interface. The Honeywell system does provide the phone access and should be less expensive, however we would have to use the T-8635L thermostats and the overall system capabilities seem to be less than the Caleffi system. Anybody have any experience with these systems or have a suggestion for an alternative.
Thanks Jim

the calepi have lotsa options:)
interoperability and with many seperate components .....i am thinking real hard on that myself ,their quality is There.
.........my thought goes like this, better sensors, touch screen ...residential to 'complex 'size systems..a screen with what you are looking at...not one item at a time...have you seen the larrs screen? it looks like it might be sorta nifty too. the reason i like the Caleffi though is, it can take a bunch of tekmars ,controls ,for example and centrally control them....then i think of say viessmann and or buderas and think about interoperability and not have switching relays current sensors couple tekmars .......and station or remote diagnosis is a snap with their lash ups. telephone lash up sounds like a radio shack add on ...i asked "do you use an opticoupler?"nope Bill says and breaks out the WWW lash up.:) i am fairly certain i heard him mention the ability to send up to 8 telephone calls and 3 e-mails off the alarm mode...0 -
Remote Setback
Remote phone setback / set up can be simply achieved using tekmar controls in conjunction with a Phone Controller made by FreezeAlarm www.controlproductsinc.com or the Viking Electronics RC-2A www.vikingelectronics.com. The FreezeAlarm also provides dial out at some temperature to protect the building from freezing.
I do not have pricing available for the phone controls, but I believe that they are quite resonably priced.
The phone controller ties into the Unoccupied Switch available on most tekmar controls.
For example, the phone control could tie into the unoccupied switch input of a 369 Zone Control to allow setback / setup of 6 zones.

Thanks to all who responded. We met with the general and owners today and it looks like we will be getting the job. The final descision on controls is still to be decided, after some more research and with all involved being comfortable with the system.
Thanks Jim0
