Key Code

Our Buderus boiler was installed last week with the 2107 controller and I was reading over the materials and saw that a key code had to be entered to get to some of the menus. I haven't asked my installer yet for this information. He initially said that in order to change DWH temp and heating programs we had to go through him and I noticed that this is available to the homeowner. Do you provide this key code to homeowners upon request?

Key Code
I would recommend a professional to set up your control. However, he should have left you with a manual. We also have manuals online at buderus.net.0 -
some area's
I would suggest you talk it over completely with your installer. There are area's of the control that Buderus would rather not have the homeowner in. It is done strictly for your complete safety. If you have question's Buderus does have an online help center.. And to answer your question, no I personally would not.0 -
I have the manuals (both on paper and on my PC). I have a few questions on the installation 2107 menu and will ask him what they are set to. One is the type of building - ours is wood and the default is brick. Also the recirc cycle for DWH is on the installer's menu and I would have liked this to be homeowner controlled (we have one because our master bedroom is far away from the indirect tank.) I wouldn't have need to touch anything else. I also need to say this is one beautiful system. My wife and I are looking forward to winter for the first time!

You normally shouldnt need to touch anything. You have to inform the installer of your preferences and any operating shortcomings you might be experiencing. The setpoints are only a starting point. Fine tuning the system takes customer imput.0 -
The Logamatic Control has a "service level" which is usually reserved for the contractor, because boiler limits, settings and other important reference's are accessed there. Changing some of these can effect the safe operation of the equipment. Please contact us at 1-800-283-3787 if there are any questions.
"Building Response" refers to how quickly the control reacts to the temperature changes. We normally recommend changing the response from #1 to #2. In a majority of most installations #1 would work fine. The reason for the change to #2 is that most people are not familiar with outdoor reset and have just had a nice efficient system installed and are watching the system very closely!
If there are any questions or assistence needed please contact us.

Recommended Changes
Hi Joe,
In the installation manual, it actually recommends that the building response default setting be changed to "1" in most cases as well as default settings for OASETBACK and MAXTEMP. The installer is coming today to check the efficiency and tune the system since this couildn't be done until the boiler had some hours logged so I am asking that he check these settings and I will go with whatever he decides.
Thanks.

John, thanks for the correction on Building Response. I crossed the number 1 and number 2!
The OASETBACK should be changed to SETBACK. When we walk a person through a Logamatic set up over the phone, we make that change. I assumed the contractor would make the changes or you would contact us for assistance.

Changes
Thanks Joe.
He did change the building reponse from 2 to 1 per the recommendations in the manual. The other settings apparently were changed during installation. I will try to post some pictures next week.
I almost forgot to mention that our efficiency came out to 87% which is pretty good.
