Hi All,
I am a first time poster but long time reader.I work in
Toronto and I am looking for a programmable tstat for a customer that is compatible with the Honeywell T87F subbase
Q539J1154.Right now there is a Honeywell Magicstat H/c model T8112D1120. As it is the fan does not come on in the AUTO position when there is a call for heat. The tstat is controlling a Polaris(combo) tank and a Whalen water cooled A/C-Model VIA-401-1. In the A/C fan auto mode the fan works. Also on a call for heat the circ. pump comes on(normal) BUT the fan does not come on.He insist that it worked before, but I am pretty sure the pgm tstat is not compatible and he needs some kind of heat pump tstat. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you pull the thermostat off the wall mounting plate...
and look on the back of the t-stat, you should see a slide switch that should say something like gas or F on one end, and elec or E on the other end. if you set the switch to the elec or E position, then the fan (G terminal) will energize on a call for heat, as well as a call for cool.
If you need it, here are two links for the owners and installation manuals.
