Fire Dragon,
I might be interested in taking a seminar from you. I am a P & H contractor that does a lot of Radiant, steam and other hydronics. I do design, installations, repipes and service. I have been doing it for over 20 years now. I am weak on oil burner service work. I would do the installations and I had a guy that set up my burners for me for years. I bought a fyrite pro about three years ago and took Jim Davis's class plus the Bacharach, Carlin class to. Around two years ago I started to do some of my clients tune ups. Most of my clients have burner service contracts from the oil company. I don't get as much an oportunity as I would like but, I still want to do more burner service work both gas and oil. I am looking for some good burner classes to take, both oil and gas. What kind of classes do you teach?

Best bet is to go to my website John,
www.FiredragonEnt.com.
I don't know where you are from but I will recomend that you continue to take all of the burner OEM courses and anything like Jim Davis's class on testing or Combustion.
Carlin has recently done over their Carlin U, so you don't want to leave that off for next year.
As to books you'll find a ton of them on our website and the NORA OTM is a must have. www.noraed.org
My personal bibles are the Handbook of Oil Burning, Burkhardt's Domestic & Commercial Oil Burners and James Moyer's Oil Fuels and Burners. These are old texts written by 'Dead Men' and studied by us dinosaurs.
I love the old books because although technology, methodology and instrumentation has changed and should be embraced, a sound, total and accurate knowledge of the basics and fundamentals can never be replaced. That, as we say around here is a FACT!0 -
Ooooops, BTW
those old books do show up on E-Bay and other sites.
If you get into this and want the best book ever on the chemistry and such in simple terms a book called 'The Fuel Oil Manual' is a keeper. That has never gone out of print and can be had here:
