One good plus for the oil companies is at least they test once a year. Testing is the best thing. In my area gas is ignored. Just ask any plumber about a gas boiler at the supply house, they will tell you that the boiler came set up from the factory and that you don't need to do any adjustments or combustion check what so ever! Noone in my area even does a combustion analysis or even owns the equipment to do so on gas, except for the gas company once in a while. That is just a small minority of systems. Most gas boiler installations in my area that are existing have never ever been tested for combustion at all. Many of these sytems are untested for over 50 years! No wonder gas kills people at a rate of 5 to 1.

Can you recommend a decently priced electronic tester /analizer that will do the complete test?

I use a Fyrite Pro

I use a Fyrite pro. Testo makes some nice units to. I have manometer to check and adjust gas pressures also.
