wiring circulator pump relay

I'm putting together a relativly simple system with 6 zones operated by zone valves (four wire with end switch) ,a single circulator pump, and water heater. I've looked at the controllers offered by Taco and Honeywell, but they offer I think way more features than I need, and would like to DIY it.

Simple question is how does the pump relay handle multiple signals from the zone valves when more than one valve is calling for circulation, assuming that I can directly wire ALL of the end switch wires to close the relay?

Probably will go with a Taco 007 or 009. What would a be a good source for a relay?
