Reminder to stay and work safe...
I just went through a safety in service on lock out tag out and although I was familiar with it, I forgot much of it. Make sure your techs are up to date and familar with this procedure. For you new kids on the block, if there is no word of this in your shop, it would be a good thing to bring it to someones attention. It may save your life.
You can learn more at

on this and I would suggest that you become vary familiar with this.

on this and I would suggest that you become vary familiar with this.It doesn't stop at electricty. It includes steam valves etc. One example was a tech that stuffed a rag in the end of a steam pipe to stop a drip in an area he was working at, the pipe built up enough steam to blow out the rag and burn the tech...Becareful and practice safe working habits.

YES!
Deninitely agree w' that. Safety first! I once worked for a shop doing oil boilers. Cutting up an oil tank I used to wear eye prrotection, dust mask and ear plugs. (Te vibration used to kill my ears). The other guys in the shop called me 'safety boy'. I in turn called them danger boys. Well one of them lost an eye smashing cast iron w' no eye protection. A few years later I did an install w' him......guess what he was doing? Smashing cast iron w' no eye protection. His defense was it was a one in a million shot. But another one in a million shot and he'd be blind. Some people never learn, even at the expense of body parts. Would never jeopordize my 'baby greens' lol

Thank you so much for bringing this subject to the wall. I have seen too many times the result of not using lockout tagout while working on equipment and the results tend to be life changing if not life ending.
The lockout standard requires developing specific procedures for equipment and providing training for employees.
If anyone has any questions about any of this, feel free to email mail me directly or here on the wall. Your safety is what it's about.
Thanks
