Why must i use a jumper when it is put on a boiler and not when its on a furnace someone was trying to explain it to me the other day I got side tracked and didnt really get it?

    the Primary?

    relay wont "MAKE". burner no mojo.

    On most boilers .......

    the thermostat or end switch etc. connects to the TT terminals of the aquastat which on a call for heat sends 120 volts through the limit circuit to the primary control.Without a jumper you won't complete the relay circuit which starts the burner.
    On a typical warm air furnace the primary control has 120 volts constantly and the thermostat connects directly to the primary control which on a call for heat makes contact across the relay circuit hence no need for a jumper.
