I would like to get some input from The Wall on Peerless boilers and any of their product offering that you have used. Good, bad, in-different. Products, support, service, anything you can tell me would be helpful. Please feel free to e-mail me if you want to keep a low profile. Thanks for your help!

    Peerless

Steve. I use the Peerless products, particularly the WBV and ECT series boilers and have had few problems. The company support is excellant. I believe Ron Jr. from L.I. installs a lot of these with similar results.

Peerless good 2nd choice for us. Gotta clean the oil boiler thoroughly annually, so if your techs are not too ambitious you might run into a problem. As long as the service is thorough we have had few problems. Good factory support. No problems w/ gas products. Plus, I believe oil fired steam boilers hold more h2o w/ a bigger steam area.

    Good Boiler

The company I work for uses these 99% of the time. Overall a good boiler. Someone mentioned oil ones need to be cleaned once a year. With a Riello burner they stay much cleaner. If you do get the occasional leaker rather than sending a block like another American Company they send a section.

  • Yep , we used Peerless almost exclusively

for a long , long time . So far , only a handful have been replaced due to leaking . Not the most efficient cast boiler , but one of the most reliable . I like that they are easy to maneuver and install , compact and have a built in air eliminator - which comes in real handy in tight spots . I have a WBV3 in my own home for about 7 years - only one vacuum cleaning needed since . I wish they would redesign their coil port to protude out more like the Burnham V8 series - makes tracking a leak and changing the coil much more easy . Overall , great bang for your buck .
  • Not true

At least , not here . In the handful of changeouts we have had we replaced the whole block , the burner door , and just a few months ago , the jacket as well . Their warantee department is very accomadating .

A product is only as good as the people behind it...

Jeff Alexander is tops in my book and the folks at Quality Equipment Sales (the rep for our area) go the extra mile for their customers.

Jeff & I spent a day together at ISH in Germany last year touring the ultra-high efficiency boiler equipment. He was momentarilly distracted by several Rothenberger sales people(G).

    Peerless

We have used many Peerless over the years-both gas and oil- with no problems at all. With oil we use Carlin or Beckett burners only. Several models of both work well and efficient.

    peerless boilers

I'm looking to purchase a new peerless furnace, I have a electric hot water tank. Will a new furnace replace the need for this hot water tank?

    MI series

We've only used the MI series. Had a few problems with the Honeywell control (not only on Peerless) allowing 40-50 degree swing between on & off. Allows the house to cool off too much in bitter weather before the fire comes back on.
