I may be WAY off base here...

Mad Dog, you asked the same question several months ago, and got a reply from him - it was short and sarcastic. Now, I don't know you or most guys here personally - but I would venture a guess it was something on the lines of pride, which all of us have an awful lot of. If you really miss the guy, you might want to think back to the past discussions with him. Peace!

I'd say you are right on target, Jim

I don't forget vicious, petty, sneak attacks from cowardly men. I know its a regular here who isn't man enough to come foward. Yes, it still irks me and eventually I will find out who he is. And, you are right, you will not find a person with more pride in his work than I have....you will find quite a few here with as much, but not more. Pride in my work is a very personal thing, and when some punk nitpiks a job that I was not 100% done with, I take offense. This weasel was just waiting to find a little piece of dirt he could nail me with. I guess from now on, I won't post ANY pictures unless the job is 100% because I may get accussed of taking a short cut. Jim, anyone who knows me, knows that I am a plain dealer, straight up, not afraid to let it all hang out. I am I perfect? - no!, but I strive for perfection on EVERY job. I can "respect" even an enemy that will go toe-to-toe with me. Have a nice weekend guys...I'll be moving the family in. Mad Dog

Then I wasn't right on target, was I...

you might remember that one of the first times Kal posted something here, I replied in a nasty way that later I regretted. He kept the discussion in a very civil manner, and continued with only professional inquiries, and I'm sure a very silly joke or two, also. I am somewhat more vulnerable, too - since I have to "represent" a large company that many of you purchase product from. He did not threaten that in any way. I learned something from that. I thought you actually wanted to keep some relationship with the person you enquired about - but I have no basis to tell if he is indeed a snake in the grass or just a misunderstood regular guy. I know you are friends with Noel, and that speaks volumes as to your character. But you should let this go, there's not much left to prove here.
  • Hey Matt

how you been doing ? Haven't seen you on in a while . Can you refresh our memory about the jist of the thread ? I'd like to go back and read what he said . I'm with you , I take lots of pride in what I do . I always love to hear constructive criticism , as long as it is constructive .

Enjoy the newly renovated house , you and your family worked hard enough .

    Thanks Jim..

make no mistake the man is a snake, but I do have to let it go - I have trouble doing that. I've got better things to do - I know. I never claimed to be completely calm or well-adjusted. They call me Mad Dog for a reason. Youre right though time to let it go. When Noel brings ya by someday, we'll take ya up on those roses. Mad Dog

Just me getting my Irish up again. I know you take the same pride - it shows, and I know those oil company boilers have to usually be a one day job - alot to get done in one day. Thanks for the Wishes. Mad Dog

    Mad Dog,

Great to see your name here again!

    Now a thought from Zen:

Hate is a wasted emotion. It hurts the hater FAR more than the person being hated.(tears you up, but the recipient isn't even aware of it, they have no concience)

    Think about it brother!

Nice to hear that you'll be moving into the Dog House. I wish you nothing less than the best of luck in your 5 year/many tear endevour. Chris

Something you said has just struck a nerve. Like you, I take a ton of pride in my work. I used to work for the same company for 15 years. An oil company. The guy I worked for had a gun to our heads on every job. But not to get done in one day, but to make the job perfect no matter how long it took. Now since relocating and finding a new employer I refuse to do installs since I will not work on the one day one boiler theory, which is what these new bosses want. They don't get the fact that every job is different. To them its all the same. After a dozen years or so of every day installs, I am PROUDLY back in a service truck and holding my head high. I know what my abilities are and dont need the approval of some **** salesman in a suit or anyone else for that matter. I dont know who this guy is you gentlemen are referring to as I am kinda new to this sight. But I for one never let someone throwing stones from a glass house get me pissed. I got too much pride. And more importantly, I got a great wife and two great kids which bring everything into perspective. Don't let some numbnuts get you down. You know your abilities. Make them work for you. Wishing you well in your new place. Good luck!
