Hey O great steam gurus,

I need to replace 2 steam valves (angle 1 1/4") on a single pipe steam system. Old ones have hairline cracks that leak when system is running.
My options are to spend $75.00 ea. for Hoffman valves (American made) from RE Michel or $12.00 ea. for valves made in Indonesia from Webstone Comp.
Are the Hoffman valves really worth the extra money? Just wondering...
I know that most times you do get what you pay for and I do like to use high quality components in our systems.

Skip, I'd go with the Hoffmans

you never can tell with the cheap ones, I've seen them crack after a few years.

Make sure there is no tension in the pipes that might have caused the old ones to crack.

I bought some Yo YO valves one year....

seems they were designed to turn the water off they arent garranteed not to Leak:))))
