Don't know about the EZ66, never seen one. Have used a 99CRD with mixed results. Replaced it with the Reillo and got great results!!!

    Muffler

If you go with the Riello better try the muffler for it, That sucker is loud.I have put a few larger 215's in with the Riello. I'd be intersted if any one has tried the muffler.

No experience with the new Carlin for this application/ I am told it has a special tube.

    Regards

Approximately 1 1/2 years ago there was an issue with the Carlin 99FRD in the G215/4 and G215/5. Carlin and Buderus worked together to resolve the issue and the EZ66 Burner was the result. The changes are to the primary control, air tube and combustion head. To date the EZ66 has preformed quite well.

With regards to noise. It has been determined the noise is the sound waves generated by the burner that travel throught the boiler and when they enter the chimney it creates a roaring sound. This has occured with other burners besides Riello. Chimney size and shape seems to be the factor for causing the noise. Comments from the field are the muffler works very well.

There has not been a pattern with regards to what type of chimney for this noise to occur. We have heard it on tall single flue brick chimneys with and without liners, multi flue chimneys, etc..

    The Riello Roar

Well my experience is that Riello's seem a little louder.

If I were really concerned about noise i would try an insulated ss liner. Has any one tried that?

    regards
