Wood/oil boilers

Good Morning. I'm seeking opinions on the performance and reliability of wood/oil boilers. Does anyone have a recommendation or horror story I should know about before I drop 4 grand on one? Thanks

wood/oil boilers
Tony, the best advise here is to buy a good one. Pay the extra cost. These things work hard and take a beating if not properly maintained.
I've had great success over the years with the TARM boilers. Rugged, dependable and quite efficient on oil or wood. Expensive up front, and needs a lot of TLC (as does any combo boiler). Depending on how much wood you will burn, consider an add-on wood boiler matched up with a good oil or gas boiler. Higher efficiency when not burming wool and chances are you won't ever have to replace both of them at the same time, down the road. Consult a good pro before jumping in.

I'd suggest two separates also
piped in a primary secondary to allow either or both to add to the load. All in ones seem like the old SUV compromise
