control question

I will be working next week to install two Weil McClain Gold 5 section boiler's in a office. It will have 10 zone's and the idea behind the duel boiler's is efficiency. The original idea on the boiler's was to run one at a lower temp than the primary boiler. That way if the weather called it could assist. Then during the summer shut one boiler down and run the other for hot water. My question is would the Tekmar 264 control be capable of controlling the second boiler to bring it to high fire if needed? I understand the theory behind leaving one boiler lower but this make's it impossible for the boiler to go to high fire. Any thought's or idea's?

Yes
The 264 will be able to stage and rotate the boilers based on requirement with automatic PID staging, or with a manually adjustable Interstage delay of up to 20 minutes. This should give you what you need.
You may also consider Mixing to achieve full outdoor reset below the Boiler Minimum (140F) in order to further minimize fuel consumption, maximize efficiency and comfort level.
I hope this helps. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to call me at 250-545-7749, Ext 214.

One of our local
school buildings is being remodeled. New install of two Smith boilers with Carlin dual fire burners. Goes to radiant floor, cabinet convectors, fin tube, fan cabinets, overhead HX for ventilation/heating. A bundle is expected to be saved with the new boilers and controls.
A Tekmar 268 will be used to enable four stages of boiler control plus reset plus DHW control. I have been taking pictures.0 -

Taco PC702, 2 boiler staging control
This is a perfect application for the PC702, and 2 Taco SR506-EXP switching relays. The PC702, is a microprocessor based control designed to regulate the supply water temperature from a 2 stage boiler system, based on outdoor, temperature, and an override for your Domestic Hot water needs. This control is equipped with a wiring harness facilitating wiring to the SR506-EXP panels. The SR506-EXP boards are interfaced together through expansion terminals, and have a master/slave orientation, so all zones will recognize priority for the domestic hot water. Please see attached wiring schematic for reference.
