I am looking at a potential new home purchase that has a new Energykinetics System 200 system that has a boiler that remains cold until it receives a call for heat or hot water. It is advertisted as saving money and very reliable. Anyone have any experience with this kind of system and track record for reliabiliity? thanks

    yes

I've found S-2000 to be a quality product. The 'rolled steel design has shown to be durable and reliable. The overall efficeincy is decent. As always, annual maintenance is key for longevity. The transfer plate for domestic hot water is incredibly efficeint. For service, it's a good idea to keep a 'jumper board on hand for a potential 'system manager' failure.

    Pop on over,

To Oil Tech Talk. You'll get the best opinions on the subject. You'll also find a link to E.K. right at the top of the page.

In 20 years, I've only replaced 1 , and it was one of the original(Grey)ones.(I want to say it was 22 or 23 YOA at the time) As long as the oil company/service company you use is comfortable with them, and keeps the parts on hand, I see no reason to worry. Chris

Great Quality. Greater tech support crew. Lots of EK here on the NJ shore ( since EK is right here in NJ) in all kinds of environments detrimental to anything and they "keep on ticking". Salt air can be brutal. As peviously stated, annual maintenance is key. And try to make sure the servicing mechanic has seen one before he dives in if possible. If they havent seen one, get yourself a copy of the products manual before hand for reference by a qulified service tech. Believe me he'll appreciate it.
