I have a customer with a Buderus G105/4 oil boiler with a beckett AFII burner that has no heat or DHW and I am wondering if you can replace that burner with a AFG?
I can't get a motor or the same burner locally but can get a new AFG burner.

Thanks

The AFG will be a poor performer. It cannot produce the required pressures necessary to evacuate the Buderus combustion chamber properly. The Buderus works on POSITIVE pressure, not NEGATIVE. The AFII is designed for this as is the Riello. Do yourself a favor and keep the AFII or if you feel the need to switch, then get the Riello. That would be my first choice (the Riello).

    I may be wrong......

but I think that boiler is not tested for an AFG. It is a high static pressure drop boiler and needs the AFII to push through it.

Where do you live, Siberia? How come you can't get parts? It is not all that uncommon a burner. You can get one UPS'ed in a day or two. Try contacting Beckett at 1-800-oilburn. I bet they can hook you up with a supplier. Do you have a Sid Harvey's or RE Michel's near by ? Barnett?

My plumbing supply house will UPS all over the country if you are willing to pay the freight. Good luck.

    Thank you for the responses!

Thanks for the responses, the parts house sent the wrong burner and the customer has been without hot water since last friday so I was trying to get this solved quicker than waiting for the other burner to come from the factory.
