Here's what i have....FHW,(converted GHW) one zone, mostly ci radiators, two rooms of copper fin baseboard (off the old radiators feed and return in basement..)this is a pretty big house, have not sized it out yet...homeowner needs a new boiler for starters, oil fired, and will remain oil fired. also wants to zone the house leaving the exsisting radiators and baseboard. oh ya and wants two zones of radiant heat. I'm looking to install a buderus with the logamatic control and i was looking to see from any one who has had luck with using outside reset controls with this mix of heating elements? And at what point (BTU size) should I introduce dual boilers?

Because of the different radiation (copper fin tube baseboard and cast iron radiators) it would be best to have these on seperate loops, especially with outdoor reset.
The decision of one or two boilers depends on load, available space, chimney, system design etc.. and of course, the customer.

    Thanks,

Joe thanks, seperating the baseboard from the radiators and putting them on there own zones is the plan, along with seperating the first and second floor. There is only one zone for the whole house currently, will be five/six zones plus DMW...Also, there is plenty of room for the install of two boilers if needed/wanted. Customer wants a heating system for a million dollar home.

You should consider cleaning and treating this new/old system
