Question to boiler Man's

a Laars 100K boiler that had a two stage gas valve as a beta test for them. This was done in the late spring, and it appears that the boiler was firing on the low stage (50K) for about 80% of the time.

With the price of gas still reaching heavenward, I am wondering if any of you other Man's are going to go this root?

I know that here in Vancouver, we design for the coldest part of the heating season, and in the last ten years we have hit that temp maybe 5-7 days only. I feel that for a conventional residential boiler, this "advancement" of Larrs is putting major pressure on me to switch more to their brand!

To be able to save homeowners a bucketful of money, AND help the enviroment is to me a win/win situation!

Any "secrets" to let out?????????????????

    Modulation

Have you heard of burner modulation? We are seeing more manufacturers implimenting modulating burner technology. This is even better than 2-stage. I definitely agree that single input firing is rather out dated. Check out the newer condensing, modulating boilers.

    Yes Troy

I have installed Munchies, and taken the Big V training. But I am more interested in whether the "standard" boilers are going to be getting this staged valve. Out of the gas boilers I install, the vast majority are standard boilers with tekmar controls. I feel very comfortable with this set-up.
