Why not Radiant Heat Association?

What was the logic behind choosing Radiant "Panel" Association as opposed to Radiant "Heat" Association. Wouldn't the latter be more "all inclusive" sounding?

    It started

from the old IBR days I believe where the system was described as a radiant panel. The CDA still refers to them a panel systems also.

We (several RPA boards and Larry Drake) have talked about a name change to include the newer products and technology better i.e. electric warming systems, ceilings, walls, etc.

    RPA

I agree the name "Radiant Panel Association" is kinda confusing. At least to the general public. It does however seem like a monumentous task to change it now,but I suppose a new name could be phased in.

    What about radiant cooling?

It should really be "radiant systems" period. While radiant cooling in North America hasn't strated to take off yet, it's already starting and is part of the whole "hydronic radiant systems" approach.
