    I was in California

teaching classes on Munchkin Boilers and Vision 1, Vision 2 and Vision 3. I was working with JTG Muir out of Oakland. They have a great way to sell hydronics. It was also great to have this tool with me while doing the class. It runs off a propane tank, secured in the truck, and highlights the product line they sell. The truck is an E250. They had the doors custom built.

    Wow

what a nicely crafted showroom. Looks like some propress thrown in also. Throw in a hammock, some windows and I could live in there :)

Any lettering on the backdoor or outside of the truck?

Related to Morgan Muir by chance?

    Yes it is Morgan

One of his people, Roy Weaver, did the work. I think Roy really did the extras on this one. Nice showroom on wheels, as well as a great way to run a class. It is not lettered (yet). If I were going to move in, I might add a microwave as well ;-) The TV screen in the upper left side, can play DVD, VHS as well as be tied on to a computer to show a power point demonstration (or other computer work).

  • Very nice

I like the radiant under the glass ( or is it plexi ? ) . Looks like top notch equipment in a top notch setup . Did you drive the rig from the east coast to west ? Or is it the Oakland company's truck ?

    It would have

to have a hammock for two, wouldn't it Hotrod?

What a great advertising tool although not enough to stop retirement.

Also looks like you have settled in quite nicely at Munchkin, Chuck. Good for you and them.

    The truck

belongs to the company in Oakland. I would love to have put it together and take credit for that kind of thought and workmanship. It is scratch proof (resistant?) plexiglass.

    Great showroom on wheels!

The only thing I've ever seen that compare to that is Kohler's custom trailer that they take to home shows. I particularly like the heated towel racks. Those sure get the ladies attention and interest perked up, easpecially in the colder areas of the country. Very nice job, and a fantastic sales tool!

    Big Question

Are you coming back from California Chuck, or has the west coast life gotten to you ?

Can't imagine why you would want to move.

I was beginning to wonder if he was going to come back as well. He would call in every day and tell me how great things were. I only got him back east by telling him that the woodchuck was winning. If nothing else, he is tenacious.

    The company that

owns the truck, sells the Saber, I work for HTP (Munchkin and Super Stor), I dont know the product line, so I cannot comment on it, but I do know that JTG Muir, tries to rep the best they can get for a given application.

    Mobil Hydronic Training Labratory

The response from those who have looked over our lab have been very supportive, this is of course encouraging. Especially when put into perspective that the training lab is not completely "operational" at this time.

The lab was conceived between Morgan Muir & myself, we are manufacturers reps for California & Nevada. Our motive being to try to take the "hydronic options" to the architects, engineers, wholesalers, & contractors.

Our "home turf" is slightly more user friendly then NYC, NY in that today we do not have to buy a parked car to get a parking place in San Francisco. However the available parking spaces will accomodate a full size automobile (in most spaces) so the challenge for us being to obtain as much cubic volume that will fit into a "full size parking space." Morgan wanted to display the lines we rep for so we could take the lines to the market. My input was to make it completely operational, so we have our five pound container which must now accomodate twenty five pounds of working products. We selected an E250 cutaway with a 10' cargo box, then had six additional doors (3 on each side)installed, as the foundation to build our lab on.

With the placement of thermometers on our system to provide the visual support of multiple temperatures all being supplied from one heat source. The class being on which ever heat source is the "star" of that presentation. We presently have three different heat sources connected to our distribution systems, with the option of as many as four additional sources being "included."

We do a tremendous amount of training seminars annually, we already know the interest in our lab has been extremely favorable. We are all anxious to get the lab completely operational, the class Chuck Shaw, John Grose and myself did a week ago with test cords in lieu of the completed system did not adversely affect the attendees, they got a lot out of our compromised presentation and were able to see how the systems work when not properly controlled (because of controls not being operational at that time)

For those of you that were there we thank you for your patience and understanding. This has been a very interesting project making a lot of "head scratching" mandatory to not just fit product, but for that product to be operational as well.

Since the bulk of this project has been a "one man" operation after hours & week ends, it has been a long time getting to reality. So we all thank you for your patience and support of our Mobil Hydronic Training Labratory.

Thank you for the interest and support.

    Roy T. Weaver
