    Calc/Plus Heat Loss

program will not load on my windows xp so now I need to upgrade heat loss program. Does anyone now how to get in contact with the Ed Horgan Calc/Plus company. The phone number is no longer available. Any suggestions for a prgram that is friendly for a "computer challenged" contractor. thanks, Patrick

I'm no computer guru by any stretch but I think there is a way to load two operating systems on the same computer. You could use say windows 98 for your heat loss program and switch to xp for other tasks. Computer geek forums may be able to help you with this.

    Indeed...

Apple Macintosh users have had the ability to switch among various windows environments for years via Virtual PC. However, emulating a pentium-class chip is not very quick... so virtualPC is pretty much only a solution for Mac folks who don't want additional windows boxes or only have two programs that only exist on the PC (Crystal Ball and heat gain/loss programs in my case)

However, it is my understanding that Microsoft bought VirtualPC from Connectix for the user switching technology. Perhaps they have since leveraged the technology to allow Windows users the same functionality re: what windows operating system to run as Mac users have enjoyed for years.

Thanks Joey! That just seems like a lot of work to me. I'm just going to find a new program.

    Mine works fine......

all-be-it opens in a smaller window and not full screen.

Mine is running on XP home on my laptop and I don't have it loaded on my desktop which runs XP Profesional. I think I had to set it up as a DOS program somehow when i loaded it and toget it to run I have to click on the calcone.exe file.

hope you come up with the best solution.

    Colin
