Freezing Kit

Our old kit just gave up the ghost. We used it today when we moved the location of a radiator and didn't want to drain down the whole system since there was an indirect, hydroair, radiant and radiators attached. What a time saver!

Our old system had freezer pouches that your tied around the pipe and then injected liquid CO2 for _ minutes, _ applications depending on size of pipe.

We are now looking at Rigid and General Wire kits. Does anyone have a favorite?

    The General Wire

one is what we have. Works great, but one of the collars cracked apart while freezing up a line. Don't know if it had a previous crack or not, but it apparently scared the hell out of the tech when it let go. Thank God we weren't depending on it to keep an ice plug in place ... he had just got started.

Took a couple of weeks to get the replacement ... and they wouldn't warrantee it - only 8 months old or so.

    FWIW
