Are there any benefits of installing cast iron boilers vs. steel?

Now as for your boiler question. Could you provide more details?
Oil or Gas?
Are you also compairing cast with STAINLESS steel or just steel?
Whats the application?

The application is a residential boiler, comparing benefits of using a cast iron boiler, such as a Burnham model V8, vs a Burnham model LE. The size of the boiler required is approximately 100,000 btu's.0 -
I've used both
and they are both fine pieces of equipment.
I REALLY like the LE boiler.
Pipe it Primary/Secondary and you will have a nice system.
The LEDV (direct vent) is a sweet heart!
Either way, you can't go wrong.
Burnham is a GREAT company.
