Hails from a melting-pot town in the coal regions of PA. Theirs was a hard scrabble existance, but through it all - it was friends helping friends & being friends across those boundaries of ethnicity and religions. The Wall has reminded me of those hearty folks this past week. Blood, sweat & tears. Work, life & joy. Births & deaths. Sharing the ride.

I'm off to wiggle me toes in the sands of Hilton Head & Myrtle Beach. My nephew is stationed at an Army base close to Hilton Head & will be sent to Iraq in a few months. We'll be spending some precious time with him and his new bride. Life is short - hug your kids(G) cause they'll soon be 17 & driving you nuts! Or in our case - driving the car tomorrow - yikes! Gives new meaning to "buckle up for safety". From diapers to steering wheels to AK47's - all in the blink of an eye.
