blowing more hot air

I know I'm writing to a bunch of competent 'hydronic&steam guys' but c'mon, aren't the summers getting more humid?
Shouldn't we be investigating Hydro-airs a little more closely? Honneywell and EWC make a decent steam humidifier.
We can still put a nice fhw set up w' full manifold, air seperator...all the bells and whistles! I'm able to close boiler w' hydro-air because of the versatility it offers.
Out w' the old FWA in w' the boiler & hydro-air. Dump the directly fired w/h and in w' the indirect. That cold basement can now get a loop of BB or a rad. You want to finish the basement? How about another hydro-air set-up complete w' A/C. You have to admit the versatility and the increase in sales they offer!

    Preaching to the choir

Ernie, Most people here do hydro air and in addition to all the benifits you mentioned why not floor warming, snow melt, and pool heating. Yeah, we do that.

    Ductless splits

I love those little ductless split systems. We use Mitsubishi Mr.Slim.

I once quit a job because I hated ductwork. I still hate it, but we do install some forced air systems.

In fact, I hate tin so much, I can't stand putting the vent pipe on atmospheric appliances.

You are correct though Ernie. We sell comfort and our customers require comfort 12 months of the year.

    Ernie,,,

we "used" to be at odds with the forced air people. Then people with foresight came to this web site and explained that in the total picture, air movement is neccessary.

It's really not a matter of us versus them. In the grand scheme of things, they still bag a lot more heating jobs than I do, but that has more to do with economic viability then it does feasability. Not eveyone can afford the comfort in heating that we offer.

But air movement is an absolute neccessity in the grand scheme of things..

We occasionaly get a "straw" that drops by here and tries to start a flaming war, but we look the other way:-)

Congrats on winning your litigation trial. You did the right things.
