branch of the RPA has been a great resource for me and other wetheds in the area. I always meet someone and learn something at the dinner meetings, not to mention drinks Dinner, and dessert. My favorite trio. Membership pays you back and is very worth the moola paid to join. WW

    RPA

I've been a member for six years and the RPA has been a great source of education. If you join plan on attending the national conferance. It is the best place to network with other contractors from around the country and attend some very informal seminars.

The RPA has some great programs like their certified installer and designer certifications. The system showcase competition. And a monthly publication.

If your serious about radiant heat you NEED to belong. The cost of membership is worth every penny.

    Depends on what you are

looking for :) I feel there is plenty of value for a contractor.

The educational material is first class, available via classroom or DVD for home study.

The newsletter always has good info and opinions.

The get togethers are always fun, and the local chapters are putting a more focused spin on the group allowing discussion on all sorts of things specfic to your area, and in a smaller more personal setting. A good way to meet "like" thinkers.

As with any association your input and participation is always welcomed.

Love to have ya, it's a very affordable group to belong to. Is there a chapter in your area? Maybe attend as a guest to get a feel.

    Product

    Weezbo,

It sounds like you have a hard time getting material up in alaska, where abouts are you, I am 60 miles north of seattle and about 60 miles south of the Canadian border, maybe I could help you get some things, Taco mixing Block etc. the supply houses around here are pretty good about stocking new product.
    Let me know.

    RPA

I have been a member of the RPA since the beginning. It has been one of the best investments I have made.

The RPA offers first rate training and some of the best publications available. I use the radiant flooring guide on a regular basis with my GC and homeowner customers.

I was involved with starting the Washington, DC chapter with the help of Jeff Riley, Wayco Wayne and several others. In one short year we have had Dan Holohan, Gary Hayden, Ted Lowe, John Siegenthaler, Dave Yates, and Robert Bean as guest speakers. I would match that line up against any in the business.

By far, I would place the greatest value on the contacts and friendships made in this industry over the years. I know that whatever challenge I face in my business, I will know someone who can be of help. Likewise, I also share my knowledge and resources with my fellow contractors and industry members.

If you earn your living in the radiant business, why would you not support your industry association? -DF
