comes up often here. Take a look at what Siggy has cooked up for another method incorporating VS pumps.

has a certain propinquity:)
Thats one of my two dolla words:)0 -
Done that several times
Using a Tekmar 361. The 361 provides boiler protection, while a tekmar boiler control directly monitors the system side of the injection pump and fires boilers as needed, providing full reset of system water temp right down to room temp. The combination works great when using the newer 262 model.
Here's a pic of one install. One of the two injection pumps is controlled by the tekmar361. The 361 monitors the return to maintain 140F going back into the boilers.
The second pump is cycled on and off by an aquastat mounted on the boiler return main. When the return gets up to 160F, the second pump comes on. This allows for additional pumping capacity during high load and high temperature conditions. Together the two pumps move about 70 to 80 gpm across the injection piping.
I have two other church installs with just a 361 providing boiler protection and the boiler control providing full reset... and they work great. Sorry no pics on these....pre digital camera era.

Boiler Choices
Makes sense, though often it may be simpler to choose a more appropriate boiler for the application.0 -
