water flowing from rads even though shutoff on supply??

I put shutoffs on two zones supply for my rads. The valves are off and I drained the boiler down to 0. I cut rads to remove them and cold water started gushing out until I shut the main off and when I turned it on the water kept coming. And yes I confirmed the Shutoff is off. WHERE IS THE WATER COMING FROM THEN??

What about the return?

no shutoff on return. IS THAT MY PROBLEM?

yes
If you open the return without caping it somehow the presure in the system will push water the other way out through the return.

If I shut off sup and return will that effect the coil at all?
Meaning I need to kill my rads for a construction project but still need h/w from my coil. Will it be ok to close sup and return line.0 -
It depends on how the system is piped, how much of the radiation capacity is removed vs. overall system size and water content.
Anything else I'm missing everyoen else?
Probably not a bad idea to call somone in who can understand how the system is piped and controled just to be sure you won't be short cycling the boiler or deadheading a circulator.

Wait, is this a coil for DHW and your just doing it for the summer? If so it should be fine.
