I am a 10 year apprentice going for my journeyman exam in Dec. I live in Mass. I was wondering if there is somewhere I can go and learn how to install but most importantly understand radiant heat.Any help would be greatly appriciated.

    read,read and .....

read. There are a ton of good books here to get you started. Also at a supply house there are installation manuals from the tube makers..Wirsbo , Stadler, Watts, etc.Furthermore Boiler manufactures are getting in on the market ...Burnham, weil-Mcl., and Buderus Also the Radiant panel website can give you info. www.radiantpanelassociation.com....thats at start.

Right on what Kevin said. You must have made a trip or two to a supply house. Most supply houses have manuals, software, and access to seminars for this stuff. Take advantage as best you can. Dan's resources are right here!
You have internet access, brouse a bit. Good attitude, go get it.

Supply houses are a good source but I highly recommend your first move it to get some of the books that are sold on this site. Books like Pumping Away, Hydronic Radiant Heating etc....

Thanks guys I do have some books but I am a hands on tech. I will ask a supply house for seminars. I have that old school attitude and this stuff is new to me. Steam heat is my specialty. That scares my boss. Thank you again and have a good one.

    training

In the New England area, one option is to attend a training class on radiant. Some of the wholesalers and reps hold these periodically, or you can attend one at a manufacturer. The 2004 schedule for Viega North America training classes can be found at http://www.stadlerviega.com/uploadedFiles/2004 Training Flyer.pdf

    radiant learning curve

Try getting a copy of "Modern Hydronic Heating" by John Siegenthaler, a must for anyone connected with our business. Also, as suggested, Stadler-Viega has excellent in-house training. Please do your self a favor and get to Viessmann in Rhode Island as well. A wealth of info in your back yard.
    Good Luck,

    Radiant Training

Contact Wirsbo 800-321-4739, have them put you in touch with the nearest Wirsbo Wholesaler. I have gone through the program. It's incredible, fun and informative. We sell a couple of Radiant lines. Wirsbo in my opinion has the best product and technical expertise. We sell miles & miles & miles every year, they do it right...
    Good Luck,
    Rick
