I inspected a Peerless
boiler today and when I looked at the combustion chamber through the inspection port, it looked wet in there. Red droplets coming from the boiler heat exchanger. I put in my gloved hand and touched the ceramic pot and it WAS wet. Red-black slimy stuff. What is it? Condensate?
Thank you, Arlene

It sounds like
condensation. I see that alot in boilers I'm called to clean this time of year.
If your offering a professional opinion I would get a boiler specialist to be sure .
Regards
Robert

That is not unusual
in a damp basement this time of year with a cold boiler. That is why pilots running in boilers that burn gas tend to stay dry in the summer.0 -
